The company HORFRES S.L.U. was founded on the 20th of November, 1985, its real origins date back to the 1970’s, when an entrepreneur with expertise in farming and trade, joined forces with two young partners, close to him by family ties.

Around these three people under the leadership of the founder,a small farming company was started, mainly dedicated to trade between farmers. In the beginning there was some cattle raising activities, but they were soon given up.

The 1980's saw a new generation joining the company. In 1985 the limited company Horfres S.L.U. was born without any sudden change, it was the logical evolution for the business.

Horfres has joined three eager generations dedicated to making agriculture a profitable business, bringing together experience and new technologies.

Nowadays most of the products (main produce are carrots and leeks) commercialized by Horfres are grown on its lands, ensuring high competitiveness in the market.

Horfres infrastructures are basically located in Villena in the province of Alicante, where the main production zones, packing-plant and logistics centre are located.

Around 1000 Ha are used by Horfres to cultivate its products, with around 425 Ha located in Villena and the rest between Cartagena, Andalucia and Segovia. Having crops in different regions, Horfres is able to supply its customers throughout the entire year.
Horfres uses state of the art crop techniques, always respecting the environment using: computer controlled irrigation, modern laboratory, fertile lands, quality controlled water, and our own weather station and a skilled staff in continuous education. All these factors make Horfres capable of continually supplying high quality products, ensuring customer satisfaction.

The packing-plant is the first destination for our fresh vegetables, arriving in our fleet to be washed, quality controlled, packed, labelled and sent to our customers, all under the supervision of qualified and skilled workforce.

The machinery is tailored to suit specific produce, and all is hydro-cooled to ensure produce is in optimal condition.
Horfres has several grading, packing, and labelling machines adjustable to suit any customer’s needs.

Horfres has built up a fleet of refrigerated Lorries to ensure the high quality and freshness of our products. The fleet is comprised of mainly Lorries, but also smaller vans for minor loads and vehicles for personnel. We keep a daily service supplying wholesale markets in the provinces of Alicante, Valencia, Murcia and Albacete with our distribution network.
